The domestic & your tamed friend who keeps you company till death and the most valuable & best friend you have with you and sometimes you value his life more than yours and someone you cannot leave behind or depart him from sight when you immigrate is your lovable pet. WE SHIP helps in assisting the client in procuring the necessary license from the Govt. regulatory and thereafter the custom clearing through our Pet Handling and Pet clearance services.

The import rule is that the pet can be accompanied and custom cleared only under Transfer of residence (T/R) unaccompanied dogs and cats cannot be imported to India unless associated with their owner who is transferring residency to India. Dogs are not permitted to enter India for breeding or commercial purposes.India will permit up to two dogs and cats per person to enter the country with their owners without a license if their owners are traveling with a transfer of residency to India for a minimum of one year OR they have lived out of India for two continuous years. Any short visits in the past 2 years should not have exceeded 180 days.

Other Indian citizens looking to visit India on a short visa can obtain a DGFT license to bring their pet to India as long as their pet departs with them. Dogs and cats can enter the country with their owner as long as requirements here are met and they have a Notice of No Objection certificate.

There are 2 methods of travel of the pets into the country and that is as accompanied or unaccompanied baggage.
  • Accompanied Baggage: When pets are accompanying the Owner in the same flight as excess baggage then in custom clearance prospect they are termed as accompanied baggage and
  • Unaccompanied baggage: When pets are not accompanying the Owner in the same flight and travelling as cargos in a different flight it is termed as unaccompanied baggage.
